Over the years, my musical taste has been shaped by countless artists who create an extremely wide variety of styles, but it seems like this wouldn’t have been nearly as diverse as it is without the stylings of Top Dawg Entertainment. Gwapa, a known mogul and CEO in the industry, has rejuvenated his musical artistry after taking time to develop other aspects of his career, and listeners are … High-quality video is a given nowadays, but the cinematic nature of this visual - lighting, transitions, speed effects, and scene environment - all make this accompanying video feel like a movie. A Perfect Take production, the music video is just as raw as the track. They made this beat their own just as Peezy did. The two have formed an aggressive combo that looks hard to defend, with their sounds interweaving and bouncing off each other flawlessly throughout the track. We already knew the beat was a hit after Peezy’s hardbodied work on it, but the added flavor that these two artists sprinkle on top is something that’s got their listeners drooling. Halloween’s upon us, and Chicago mogul Yung Gwapa brought together a frightful collaboration with GSambo on this track. Yung Gwapa and GSambo sure weren’t wrong in saying that either, with a scary-good remix to Detroit star Peezy’s “ILL WAIT,” which dropped earlier this month. “It’s getting spooky ’round this b****,” is my favorite introductory line from a rapper I’ve heard in recent memory. The video, produced by Auti and Malik, screams luxury, with him flexing designer apparel, expensive jewelry … ![]() ![]() His lyricism and delivery are things that I’ve witnessed grow more precise and detailed over time, and I think listeners will understand what I mean with this joint. Savage floats, using his often-visited electronic filter over his vocals that perfectly mold with this beat. The track itself is a heater, with a unique instrumental produced by Cxdy and FLOWRENCY that had me crinkling my nose at first listen (that’s a good thing). This piece specifically has to be one of my favorites he’s released since the drop of his latest project BPL last year. I’m a little behind on this release, not because I didn’t see the track when it was first dropped, but because I never peeped the visual. 2” shows just how well-rounded and generally impressive D.
